Queer Feminist Festival Brings Together Vienna’s Queer Community

The first ever Queer Feminist Festival (QF²) orgnaized by the Villa Vida Café on October 23, 2021 was a celebration of the diverse community of activists in Vienna. The QF² brought together the Viennese queer community together in the form of workshops, vendors, performances, and information stands from various LGBTQIA + organizations.

Thanks to the help of some very enthusiastic volunteers who ensured set up for the workshops, performances, and vendors and also made the event COVID-safe, the event went smoothly. Even on a rather chilly day, the turnout surpassed 1,000 people which was indeed quite amazing!

The workshops at the Queer Feminist Festival included Yoga and Self-Love, Mental Health Practice as Queer Critical Resistance, and Intersectional Queer Counselling among others.

Another highlight of the Festival were the many vendors who brought their talents to us. One of the main goals of the QF² was to provide a platform for queer artists and entrepreneurs to reach a wider audience.

Finally, we owe a debt of gratitude to the LGBTQ+ organizations who were also part of the QF² – these organizations work tirelessly to provide support and resources to the LGBTQ+ community in Vienna and we are glad to be able to connect these resources with the people who need them.
