April 21, 2026As part of this year’s Pride Block Party, Villa Vida Café is hosting a series of free and donation-based workshops focused on creativity, care, healing, and collective expression. The workshops take place during the block party on May 23 and invite people to participate, reflect, connect, and create together during Pride season.

The Pride Block Party was built to celebrate queer community in all its forms. Music, performances, food, organizing, art, and workshops all share space together. The workshops bring a slower and more intentional energy into the day. Some focus on creativity. Others focus on movement, reflection, or emotional care. All are open to the community.
Here’s a closer look at the workshops happening throughout the event.
Waiting for the Pride Workshop
This workshop creates space to reflect on Pride, visibility, resistance, and the future of queer community. Participants will explore personal and collective experiences through guided prompts and conversation. The session focuses on what Pride means now, especially during a time when queer and trans communities continue to organize, protest, and build support systems across borders.
Zines have long been part of queer political and creative culture. This workshop invites participants to create their own small publications using collage, writing, drawing, and found materials. No experience is needed. People will have access to supplies and space to experiment freely.
Participants are encouraged to create zines about identity, rage, joy, memory, love, protest, or anything else they want to express. Finished zines can be taken home or shared with others during the event.
LETTER TO FUTURE SELF Workshop
This workshop centers reflection and intention-setting. Participants will write letters to themselves focused on the future, growth, survival, hope, and personal transformation. The workshop offers a quiet and supportive environment during an otherwise high-energy Pride weekend.
Many queer people carry stories of resilience and reinvention. This workshop creates time to pause and connect with those stories in a personal way.
Movement, release, and embodiment are at the center of this workshop. Participants will move through guided exercises designed to reconnect with the body and release tension through rhythm and expression.
The session welcomes all movement levels and focuses on freedom rather than performance. Participants are encouraged to show up as they are.
This workshop offers a grounding and accessible yoga session led through a trauma-informed approach. The focus is on safety, breath, choice, and reconnecting with the body without pressure or expectation.
The workshop recognizes that Pride exists alongside many lived experiences, including stress, exclusion, burnout, and trauma. Participants will have space to rest, stretch, and reset during the day.
All workshops during the Pride Block Party are free or donation-based. Community members are encouraged to register through the website in advance for workshops they want to attend, since space for some sessions is limited.
The Pride Block Party brings together artists, activists, community groups, performers, and neighbors for a full day of queer celebration and connection in Vienna. The workshops are one part of a larger effort to create spaces where queer people feel supported, creative, visible, and connected.
