A Two-Day Queer Mini-Conference & Teach-In | Blending Theory with Activism
Join us in Vienna for Queer Futures, a two-day mini-conference and teach-in taking place on June 12 & 13, 2025. This dynamic grassroots event brings together activists, artists, thinkers, and community members to imagine radical queer futures that are informed, resistant, and deeply connected.
Queer Futures is a space for challenging normative structures, uplifting intersectional perspectives, and co-creating queer worlds through activism, conversation, and collective dreaming.
Why Queer Futures?
This event is a response to the disconnect between academic theory and lived queer experience. We invite you to help bridge that gap—with your voice, your story, and your work.
We aim to create an affirming and accessible space within the LGBTQIA+ community that:
- Centers activism and direct action,
- Rejects assimilationist politics,
- Uplifts resistance and transformation.
Whether you’re an organizer, artist, scholar, or community member—you are invited to shape the future.

We’re currently accepting submissions for sessions, performances, and presentations. We welcome a wide range of contributions, including but not limited to:
- Academic presentations
- Workshops
- Activist strategy sessions
- Film screenings + discussions
- Original literary or spoken word performances
- Conversations bridging theory and practice
Session Format:
Each session will run for 45 minutes, including time for discussion and Q&A.
Possible Topics Include:
- Queer theory in action
- Decolonizing queer spaces
- Trans futures and transnational solidarity
- Disability justice and access
- Resistance movements and Pride as protest
- Mutual aid and queer care networks
- Creative interventions in academic spaces
