Vernissage: JG Danso – Poetry & Art Sale
July 24, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm CEST
JG Danso was born in East London to parents from Sierra Leone and Ghana. She has lived in Vienna since 2014.
Her work is inspired by the love, laughs, determination, mistakes, privilege and patience she experiences in navigating feminism, lgbtqia+ visibility, African descendant identity, work, motherhood and relationships. Through her poetry, she hopes to contribute to a more multifaceted narrative on black queerness and continue to advocate for full equality.
JG is based at Villa Vida as a resident poet.
Learn more about her thought process by scanning the qr code to each poem reading and following poetry updates @jgdanso on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

All illustrators have their own unique story to tell and have been paid a thankyou fee for sharing their illustration. A portion of the sales proceeds will also go to support @villavidacafe. Concept and graphic design has been developed in collaboration with queer creatives @lavienisima
