The series focuses on new talent\, experimentation\, and community. It creates a low-pressure environment where DJs can develop ideas\, shape their sound\, and connect with people through music. \n\n\n\nThe format is intentionally relaxed and accessible. Visitors are welcome to come by to listen\, work\, meet friends\, have coffee\, or stay for the entire set. Day DJ aims to create an ongoing platform where local DJs can grow their practice while contributing to Vienna’s queer and underground music culture. \n\n\n\nDJ Von Habicht\n\n\n\nDJ Von Habicht’s style and message are being shaped by the impressions of the queer and underground world\, as well as by the search for freedom in the deepest waves of electronic music.Through a psychedelic journey with an immersive and groovy selection of techno\, trance\, and tech house elements\, a message emerges: the search for liberation is inevitable and there is always a storytelling behind every piece of art. \n\n\n\nDJs have always played an important role in queer culture. In spaces where queer people were excluded or unsafe\, DJs helped create environments where identity\, expression\, connection\, and experimentation could exist. Many of the foundations of modern nightlife — including house\, disco\, and club culture — emerged from queer communities\, especially Black and Latinx scenes. \n\n\n\nDay DJ continues this tradition by offering space for emerging artists\, community exchange\, and alternative forms of gathering outside of traditional nightlife hours. \n\n\n\nFree entry. DESCRIPTION:Mapping Home in the City: A Participatory Approach to Vienna’s Cartography \n\n\n\nWhat makes a city feel like home? This workshop moves beyond the idea that home lives only within four walls\, exploring instead how we create belonging and security in urban space — and how that process is shaped by structures of gender\, sexuality\, race\, and class that determine whose right to feel at home is recognised and whose is not. \n\n\n\nPeople resist. They build communities\, care for each other\, and forge homes in ways that go beyond anything we were taught. Drawing on participatory cartography and Kevin Lynch’s concept of mental maps\, this workshop invites you to draw your own map of home in Vienna: the walls you encounter\, and the doors that stay open. \n\n\n\nThe session closes with a collective sharing circle\, where participants are welcome to present their maps and reflect together on the spaces and practices that make us feel safe\, rooted\, connected\, and how we can grow them. \n\n\n\nFacilitated by Leti Nada (she/they)\, a social anthropology student and community organiser based in Vienna. Inside and outside academia\, Leti researches and practices ways of making home in the city through collective care and action.

Participants will explore how ableist systems create barriers while also learning about the resources\, rights\, and support services that currently exist. \n\n\n\nWhether you are disabled\, chronically ill\, neurodivergent\, a caregiver\, a support worker\, an ally\, or simply interested in creating more accessible communities\, you are warmly welcome. \n\n\n\nWhat Is Disability Justice?\n\n\n\nDisability justice goes beyond legal accessibility requirements. DESCRIPTION:This workshop explores how our memories\, identities\, and sense of belonging are shaped by the plants and climates we grow up with\, and how these relationships change through experiences of migration\, movement\, and transformation. \n\n\n\nWhether migration is across countries\, cities\, languages\, or social environments\, we carry traces of these places with us\, often in ways we do not immediately recognise. \n\n\n\nGrounded in queer ecology and theory\, this workshop approaches nature as a space that challenges fixed categories and celebrates diverse ways of relating\, adapting\, and existing. \n\n\n\nQueer Ecology\, Memory\, and Migration\n\n\n\nDrawing from writers such as Sania Shah and Jessica J. Lee\, alongside examples of queerness in flowers and plant life\, participants will reflect on their own connections to place\, memory\, and movement. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will explore questions such as: \n\n\n\n\nWhat do we carry with us when we migrate?\n\n\n\nHow do plants\, landscapes\, and climates shape identity?\n\n\n\nWhat traces of former homes remain with us?\n\n\n\nHow do we create belonging in new environments?\n\n\n\nWhat can nature teach us about adaptation and transformation?\n\n\n\n\nCreative Reflection and Making\n\n\n\nParticipants are invited to identify a transformational plant\, flower\, tree\, or natural element that holds personal significance. \n\n\n\nThrough storytelling\, group discussion\, painting\, and speculative making methods\, we will explore how reconnecting with these plant memories can help us understand where we come from\, how we identify ourselves\, and how we root ourselves in the places we inhabit today. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will imagine and create small portable objects inspired by these plants and memories. \n\n\n\nThese creations may become: \n\n\n\n\nPersonal holders\n\n\n\nNecklaces\n\n\n\nKeychains\n\n\n\nMagnets\n\n\n\nPins\n\n\n\nOther everyday companions\n\n\n\n\nThese objects will serve as small reminders of memory\, movement\, belonging\, and transformation. \n\n\n\nCommunity\, Anti-Racism\, and Collective Storytelling\n\n\n\nThe workshop also engages with themes of anti-racism\, the right to existence\, community-building\, and collective storytelling. \n\n\n\nThrough rounds of sharing and listening\, participants contribute to a supportive environment where personal stories become a starting point for understanding broader experiences of belonging\, migration\, identity\, and difference. \n\n\n\nSharing personal experiences is welcome but never required. Participants are encouraged to engage in whatever way feels comfortable for them. \n\n\n\nWho Is This Workshop For?\n\n\n\nThis workshop welcomes: \n\n\n\n\nMigrants and refugees\n\n\n\nDiaspora communities\n\n\n\nLGBTQIA+ people\n\n\n\nArtists\, writers\, and creatives\n\n\n\nNature lovers\n\n\n\nCommunity organisers\n\n\n\nPeople interested in identity\, memory\, and belonging\n\n\n\nAnyone curious about migration\, ecology\, and storytelling\n\n\n\n\nNo prior knowledge or artistic experience is required. \n\n\n\nAbout the Facilitator\n\n\n\nNazgol Sobhan\n\n\n\nNazgol Sobhan facilitates creative and community-centred spaces exploring migration\, memory\, identity\, belonging\, and ecology. The series focuses on new talent\, experimentation\, and community. It creates a low-pressure environment where DJs can develop ideas\, shape their sound\, and connect with people through music. \n\n\n\nThe format is intentionally relaxed and accessible. Visitors are welcome to come by to listen\, work\, meet friends\, have coffee\, or stay for the entire set. Day DJ aims to create an ongoing platform where local DJs can grow their practice while contributing to Vienna’s queer and underground music culture. \n\n\n\nDJ teufling\n\n\n\nDJ teufling brings a high-energy selection moving through bounce\, trance\, techno\, acid\, and Latin-inspired sounds. Expect fast-paced rhythms ranging from 135–165 BPM\, mixed with playful 2000s influences and unexpected connections between genres. \n\n\n\nDJs have always played an important role in queer culture. In spaces where queer people were excluded or unsafe\, DJs helped create environments where identity\, expression\, connection\, and experimentation could exist. This night holds celebration and urgency at the same time. \n\n\n\nVilla Vida started as a space for queer life in Vienna that centers presence\, voice\, and collective strength. Over seven years\, it grew into a hub for organizing\, gathering\, and creating. A place where art\, music\, and community work sit side by side. \n\n\n\nThese years hold many forms of work: \n\n\n\n\nqueer joy built through shared nights and events\n\n\n\nradical resistance expressed through culture and action\n\n\n\nspace for queer youth to be seen and supported\n\n\n\nconsistent focus on disabled\, POC\, and marginalized communities\n\n\n\nongoing organizing in the heart of Vienna\n\n\n\n\nThis work did not stay abstract. It stayed present. In rooms\, in conversations\, in performances\, in care networks that formed around need. \n\n\n\nWe continue because the need continues. \n\n\n\nThis night also responds to current pressure. Funds from the event go toward rising rent costs and the Queer Vienna Mutual Aid Fund. Both are essential to keeping community infrastructure alive and accessible. \n\n\n\nVilla Vida plans to continue creating and collaborating for as long as capacity allows.
