During the 1940s and 50s\, the color became a quiet emblem of identity and defiance\, especially in the face of the “Lavender Scare\,” when queer individuals were targeted and removed from government jobs in the U.S.  \n\n\n\nToday\, lavender remains a symbol of remembrance and resistance. At Lavender Lounge\, we honor this legacy by gathering in creative expression\, building community\, and celebrating the strength and beauty of queer history and art. \n\n\n\n\n\nKomm zur Lavender Lounge\, einem Arts-and-Crafts-Club im Villa Vida! Jeden zweiten Mittwoch von 16 bis 18 Uhr – bringe deine eigenen Materialien mit und genieße einen lebendigen Raum\, um kreativ zu sein\, Kontakte zu knüpfen und dein Handwerk in Gemeinschaft zu teilen. Ob du malst\, strickst\, zeichnest oder an einem anderen kreativen Projekt arbeitest\, die Lavender Lounge heißt alle willkommen\, die Inspiration und Gemeinschaft durch Kunst suchen. \n\n\n\nLavendel hat eine bedeutende Geschichte in der queeren Kultur und steht für Ermächtigung und Widerstandskraft. In den 1940er und 50er Jahren wurde die Farbe zu einem stillen Symbol für Identität und Widerstand\, besonders während der „Lavender Scare“\, als queere Menschen in den USA gezielt verfolgt und aus Regierungsstellen entfernt wurden. \n\n\n\nHeute bleibt Lavendel ein Symbol des Gedenkens und Widerstands. In der Lavender Lounge ehren wir dieses Erbe\, indem wir uns im kreativen Ausdruck vereinen\, Gemeinschaft aufbauen und die Stärke und Schönheit der queeren Geschichte und Kunst feiern.
