SUMMARY:Activate: Arts & Crafts with Stuffed Animals Workshop
DESCRIPTION:(TIME CHANGE! 13:00-16:00) \n\n\n\nJoin us for a hands-on\, slightly chaotic\, and very creative session where we give stuffed animals a second life. \n\n\n\nIn this Activate Queer Teen Club workshop\, we’ll be taking apart\, reworking\, and transforming plushies into something entirely new. Think stitched-up bears\, mixed-and-matched creatures\, plushie taxidermy\, and a little bit of soft toy “Frankenstein” energy. You can keep it cute\, make it weird\, or go fully experimental. \n\n\n\nNot into cutting up plushies? No problem. You’re very welcome to just hang out and use our arts & crafts materials in whatever way you like. \n\n\n\nWhat to expect \n\n\n\n\nSewing\, cutting\, and combining stuffed animals\n\n\n\nAdding accessories and new features\n\n\n\nCreating your own reimagined plush creature\n\n\n\nOr working on other arts & crafts projects with provided materials\n\n\n\nA relaxed\, supportive space to hang out and create\n\n\n\n\nYou’re welcome to bring any stuffed animals you no longer need or want to transform. We will also provide plenty of materials and plushies\, so bringing your own is completely optional. \n\n\n\nWho it’s forActivate is a queer teen club for folx aged 14–19. No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to try things out. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAccessibility & spaceThis is a safer\, supervised space where everyone is welcome to show up as they are. \n\n\n\nSessions run in English and/or German\, depending on what participants prefer. All supervisors speak additional languages. \n\n\n\nVilla Vida Café is fully wheelchair accessible\, including an accessible toilet. \n\n\n\nNo prior experience needed. Free. Friends welcome.  \n\n\n\nSUPERVISING THIS MONTH:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Emily (she/they) obsessed with nerdy things like Magic Cards and DnD\, but also an arts-and-crafts powerhouse.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\nAren (he/they)\n\n\n\nAren is the former owner of the queer\, vegan\, and Japanese restaurant Tokyo Boom. They love nature\, movement\, dance\, crafts\, art\, and anything food-related\, and bring a grounding and creative energy to every session.
