DESCRIPTION:This year we have decided to cancel the Vienna Dyke* March due to COVID restrictions. Instead\, we are taking part in a Global Dyke Day organized by different Dyke Marches worldwide and which will be live-streamed for 24 hours. Vienna will put together an afternoon of live music\, poetry\, performances\, and/or political statements focusing on dyke* solidarity with Black Lives Matter and global dyke* solidarity; a careful real-life and virtual get-together. \n\nJune 27th\, 2020: 2pm – 5pm\nWe have decided to host an afternoon program on the 27th of June in Villa Vida with the proceeds going to Villa Vida which has suffered greatly from the long closing during shut down. A smaller percentage will go to the participating artists. There will be an opportunity for visitors and guests to be physically present on the day from 2-5 pm and make a sliding scale donation. [wdgk_donation]If you are watching the live stream and also the recording we are grateful for your donations. In this way\, the event aims at bringing together the dyke* community of Vienna after the lockdown\, but also to bring together Dyke March followers and participants from all over the world. \nParticipate\nThe dyke march invites all those to participate\, who identify as\, sympathize with\, and support dykes in all their fabulousness! Any person who identifies as a dyke is welcome to join us regardless of gender expression or identity\, sex assigned at birth\, sexual orientation\, race\, age\, political affiliation\, religious identity\, ability\, class\, or immigration status. If you would like you to be a part of this with a performance\, a statement\, a song\, or help promoting\, financing\, or physically setting up this event\, please get back to dykemarch@villavida.cafe \nAttend\, Watch\, Donate \nThere are limited spaces at Villa Vida Cafe so if you want to attend the performance/protest in person\, you must register by clicking the “Reserve your Spot” button above. DESCRIPTION:Night of Words is a new open mic poetry night that will be held every third week of the month. Our aim is to celebrate and bring people from all walks of life into an intimate setting where they can share\, dream and be beautifully queer. Everyone has a chance to hold the stage and you can speak\, rap\, or sing in whatever way you see fit or collaborate in other forms of artistic expression. You can share someone else’s work or perform your own pieces. You can speak in any language you desire and you can be whomever you want\, we accept you.\nHowever…we do no accept Transphobia\, Queephobia\, Homophobia\, ableism\, racism or any form of violence that marginalizes or discriminates. We are here to bring POC voices to the forth front but all are welcome to perform and listen.  \nNote: The mission & vision of our event is to create a space where people can come & express themselves in a way that they find comfortable. There is a tendency for people being intimidated to perform in front of people and different heavy feelings. Due to this\, we are very adamant for people to see the event space where they get over such fears. We encourage people to participate.
